i made this afghan for my niece, layla. she came home from the hospital in it just a few short weeks ago. now she is bright-eyed and will be driving before we all know it.
afghan is 42 crocheted hexagons all stitched together, with fringe added around the outside. many, many hours of “buffy the vampire slayer” were viewed during the completion of this blanket.
photographed in my backyard, on a chair i found up the street on the curb.

i was inspired yesterday by 1960s postcards and decided to create some of my own. using some photos i took last summer while camping at lake macbride, i have created what i feel are fun, silly retro-themed postcards, public service announcements … call them what you will.
i wonder if this is my subconscious’s way of telling me i need a vacation.
