just when i thought having one art show was awesome…i was invited to be the first artist to exhibit work at the mormon trek java house! so just as my revival show will be winding down, another one will be taking off across town.
preliminary details are minimal: the opening will be saturday, february 27, and that’s all i know right now. i’m trying to find out if i can have live music – and trying to decide on what photos to exhibit! i just created a new Patience the Deer series where Patience visited hawaii, japan, india, and thailand. view them at my flickr stream. here’s a teaser:

i spent a good chunk of the day on saturday playing with my light box, studio lights, and vintage camera collection. the end results are posted at my flickr site, and i have to say i’m pretty jazzed about what i turned out.
i’ve wanted to embark upon this project for a while but haven’t felt like i had the time. finally i decided to put off cleaning, picking up my clothes that seemed to somehow get strewn about the house, washing dishes, doing laundry, and all the other tedious tasks a homeowner must perform to spend some quality time being a camera geek.

I think 2010 is going to be a big year for me and the DSPC. I recently embarked upon an online school journey and will be getting my certification in Wildlife and Forestry Conservation before the year is through (think FIELD GUIDES!). I’ve also got some new photography projects stewing in my brain – look for some new works featuring everyone’s favorite little plastic deer, Patience, and some brand new images of my very own vintage camera collection! I’ll also be posting more stuff in my Etsy shop and updating the DSPC blog/site once I find the time (hopefully this weekend).

i hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday! we here at the DSPC are snowed in (metaphorically) and working on coming up with new and exciting projects for the remaining winter months.
